2008 is the inaugural season of the NW Star Academy 14U summer team. The team plays an independent summer schedule against the top JBO, Babe Ruth, and Junior State teams in Oregon and Washington. We also play in multiple local tournaments. The team is made up of 13-14 ballplayers. Because we play independent, there are no boundaries to which players can come from. We currently have players from multiple communities to include Hillsboro, Beaverton, Portland, Tualatin, and Beavercreek. The goal behind the NW Star Academy 14U team is provide an instructional and competitive atmosphere for 13-14 year to learn how to play the game of baseball and be truly prepared for high school baseball. The team works out throughout the winter and has a minimum of one practice per week during the season. We play only 40-50 games to ensure a balance between games and practice.
