Week 6 Reschedule to Oct. 12th

Due to the weather last weekend, we have rescheduled all games for that were scheduled for Oct 5th to Oct. 12th. The new schedule is found below:

Week 6 - October 5th

Update:

As of 10:30am, all game are cancelled except for Wilsonville HS. All games will be rescheduled for next Sunday. That will be our final weekend of games. An email will be sent out Monday to confirm game sites and times.

Rainout: In the event of rain, I will update website by 9:00am as well as send out an email. The procedure if this weekend gets rained out is that we extend one more weekend and the schedule moves to Oct. 12. The schedule will remain the same.

Game recaps and pictures from the championships will be posted Sunday evening. Thank you everyone who has participated and good luck.

Week 5 - September 28th

This is the last weekend of the regular season. Everyone will play on Oct. 5th so make sure your players understand that.

Makeup Games: If you have had any cancellations or rained out games, those must be made up by Saturday Sept. 27th if you want them to count in the standings. If you do not care about it counting towards standings, then you have until Oct. 15th to make up any games with the league paying for umpires.

To make up a game, contact the other coach you were scheduled to play, find a day and time you can play (preferably on Saturday), email me in at least 72 hours advance notice, and I will schedule you a field and umpires.

Waivers: We have collected many, but not all waivers. Please continue to collect those and hand into administrators.

Indoor Facility: With Fall officially arriving, our indoor facility will be open on Thursday night this week from 7-8pm. Facility is located at 125 SE Stark St. in Portland. Come check out our newly turfed batting cages.

Junior League Schedule Change: Hurting Units vs Clark County Nationals will be played at Mt. View HS JV at 11:00am.

Junior League Schedule Change: Demarini Dirty Dozen vs Sunset will be played at Battle Ground JV at 11:00am

All other games are on as scheduled, but check back here for updates.

Week 4 - September 21st

If you did not turn in waivers, you can either deliver them to the administrator at this weeks game or put them in the mail ASAP to NW Star Academy. Those must be turned in ASAP. You can also contact Joe at 503-380-5685 and I can arrange a pickup this week. It is important that we collect those.

Junior League Schedule Change: Demarini Dirty Dozen v Hurting Units will be played at Heritage Varsity this Sunday at 11:00am.

Week 3 - September 14th

There will be no 2008 All Star Game. We did not get enough response from coaches for this makeup game. Sorry and we will try again next year.

All teams must deliver their player waivers for every rostered players to the on-site administrators this Sunday. We must have those for insurance purposes and to monitor each team's rosters. Click here to download Player Waiver

Schedule Change: Hillsboro 2 v Battle Ground is moved to Hillsboro JV at 11:00am

All Star Game: I sent out an email on August 31st regarding a makeup of the All Star Game. I heard back from 3 out of 18 teams. Does that mean we do not want to makeup the All Star Game? If you want to make it up, it will be this Saturday Sept. 13th. I must hear from all 18 teams with the names of their 2 represenatives. If no one gets back to me, we will not have an All Star Game this year.

Indoor Training Facility Opening for Apple Cup teams: As part of playing in the Apple Cup Fall League in 2008, we are opening up our indoor training facility for all the teams to use during the fall ball season starting this Tuesday Sept. 9th. The facility is going to be open on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 7:00-8:15ish for teams to come in, hit, pitch, field, etc. No cost for players. The facility is located at 125 SE Stark St. We share the same building space as Metro Baseball, but are a separate entity.

Week 2 - September 7th

All games are on as scheduled. There are no changes to the schedule. Enjoy the great fall weather.

All Star Game - August 31st

The 3rd annual All Star Game will take place at Hare Field on Sunday August 31st. The game will begin at 6:30pm. Players should arrive by 5:00pm.

Each team is allowed 2 participants. I will be sending out an email Monday requesting the name, positions, and school of your 2 players. Please send that information back ASAP.

We are also looking for 2 coaches to volunteer to coach the teams. If you are interested, its a lot of fun and a good way to get to know some ballplayers. Let me know.

Time Limit Questions: There was some confusion in week 1 as some umpires said that game 1 is a 2 hour drop dead and game 2 is no new innings after 2 hours. That is incorrect. All games are 2 hours with no new inning starts after 2 hours. I will email our umpire commissioner and make sure he forwards that information along to his umpires. Sorry for any confusion.

Week 1 - August 24

Schedule Change: Portland Metro is changing divisions and joining the Black division and new team, Platt Electric is joining the White Division. Portland Metro now plays at 11:00am at Hare Field JV on Sunday against Hillsboro 2.

Schedule Change: The game between Union and Battle Ground will now begin at 3:00pm at Union HS varsity.

Schedule Change: The game between Wilson and Showtime will now be played at Battle Ground HS at 1!:00am.

Schedule Change: The junior league game between NW Star Academy and Hurting Units will be moved to Gabriel Park Upper.

An updated schedule is now posted. Be sure to check where you play because there has been quite a few changes.

Team fees are now due. If you have not paid yet, you need to bring money to give the on-site administrator. Please give all money and forms to adminstrators prior to your games.

Player waiver forms are due by the 2nd week of league play. If you need additional copies, visit the link to the left. ALL PLAYERS MUST FILL OUT THE WAIVER FORM AND RETURN!!!
