On any regular Saturday night, you would imagine the home of the Hillsboro Hops field filled with baseball fans rooting on the local favorites. Yet, not this past Saturday night, when Michael Allen Harrison hosted "Ten Grands on the Diamond".

A special night of baseball themed music raised funds and awareness for local non profits, including Harrison's Play It Forward program, Friends of Baseball and Tigard Rotary.

Ten pianos centered in the infield, celebrated Michael Allen Harrison's 60th birthday as well as the inaugural induction to the Friends of Baseball Oregon Baseball Legends, including NW Star's own, Coach Jerry Gatto.

Other noted legends included: Mike Clopton, Jack Dunn, Joe Etzel, Dave Gasser, Jim Joyce, aRt Larrance, Teri Mariani, Dick McClain, Ad Rutschman, Dale Scott, Sue Seaver, Tom Trebelhorn and Rick Wise.

Kudos to Friends of Baseball Keenan Longcor, who began Friends of Baseball in 2005. His program has provided nearly $3 million in grants, scholarship, field restoration and equipment, along with providing baseball opportunities to over 40,000 youth in the Portland metro area.

Coach Gatto, along with many other legends, were humbled at the recognition and wishing continued success for baseball enthusiasts in our community.
